Have Cannabis Stores Maxed Out In Connecticut?

Fine Fettle currently has seven open cannabis retail shops in Connecticut with two more to come, and though they have the license for yet another, they’re choosing not to open it.

It’s not necessarily the strength or weakness of the market that prevented Fine Fettle from expanding further, owner Ben Zachs said. There are almost 40 cannabis retailers in the state right now, but it wasn’t a question of competition.

There was simply no good place to put it, Zachs said. Restrictions on the type of license meant that five of Fine Fettle’s stores must be 20 miles or further away from each other. They couldn’t find a place for the sixth.
