FLUENT Announces Leadership Transition as Company Advances Vireo Acquisition

FLUENT Corp. announced Thursday that David E. Vautrin will step down as Interim Chief Executive Officer effective June 12, 2026, as the company continues progressing toward its previously announced acquisition by Vireo Growth Inc.

The vertically integrated, multi-state cannabis company said Matt Mundy, FLUENT’s Chief Legal Officer, has been appointed Interim Chief Executive Officer effective June 12. According to the company, Mundy has played a key role in advancing the proposed transaction with Vireo and will provide leadership continuity during the next phase of the process.

William Smith, Executive Chair of FLUENT’s Board of Directors, thanked Vautrin for his service during what he described as a pivotal period for the company.

“Over the past year, FLUENT has successfully implemented many critical strategic initiatives, strengthened operational execution and entered into an arrangement agreement to be acquired by Vireo Growth Inc., subject to the terms and conditions contained therein,” Smith said in a statement. “We are grateful for his service and contributions during this time with the Company.”

Vautrin also reflected on his tenure as interim chief executive.

“I appreciate the opportunity provided by the Board to serve as Interim CEO during such an important period for FLUENT,” Vautrin said. “I am proud of what our team accomplished together, and I would like to thank our employees for their dedication and commitment throughout this journey.”

The company said the leadership change comes as it works toward completing the previously announced arrangement agreement with Vireo. FLUENT noted that the transaction remains subject to the terms and conditions outlined in the agreement.

FLUENT describes itself as a national cannabis consumer packaged goods company and retailer focused on operational excellence across cultivation, production, distribution and retail operations. The company produces cannabis products under several brands, including MOODS, Knack, Wandr, Bag-O and Hyer Kind.

The company operates in Florida, New York and Texas. Headquartered in Tampa, FLUENT employs approximately 580 people across eight cultivation and manufacturing facilities and 34 active retail locations.

FLUENT’s common shares trade on the Canadian Securities Exchange under the symbol FNT.U and on the OTCQB Venture Market under the symbol CNTMF.
