Michigan Remains Top Seller Of Cannabis In US Despite Slower Sales In May

Despite emerging as the top seller of legal cannabis in the U.S., according to cannabis analytics firm BDSA, surpassing California in unit sales, marijuana sales remained relatively flat in May, according to the latest data by the Cannabis Regulatory Agency.

Michiganders spent a total of $279.6 million on cannabis last month, representing a 13.7% year-over-year and 0.4% increase from April.

Of that sum, medical cannabis sales accounted for $1.6 million, representing a 77.2% year-over-year and $13.5% sequential decrease. That said, recreational cannabis sales grew 16.4% year-over-year and 0.5% sequentially to $278 million.
