NBA Legend Isiah Thomas Says Colombia’s ‘Regulatory And Political Hurdles’ Are Not Affecting His Cannabis Business
A measure that sought to legalize marijuana in Colombia was put on hold by Senate members in December, during its fourth round of eight obligatory debates to pass the constitutional amendment.
The proposal was introduced by Reps. Juan Carlos Losada and Sen. María José Pizarro Rodriguez in July. If Colombian lawmakers implement the reform, they will have to begin the legislative process from scratch.
Isiah Thomas, chairman and CEO of One World Products Inc (OTC:OWPC), a hemp and cannabis producer with offices in Las Vegas and operations in Colombia, said on Monday that the lack of cannabis regulatory changes is not affecting the company’s operations and business prospects.
“Our plans remain unaltered as our products are not affected by the recent moves by Colombia’s Congress,” Thomas said in a press release.
