“Transferring that to the cannabis world has been a no-brainer for us,” said Jeremy Peterson, Service Manager at High Tek USA.
Innovations Elevating Cannabis Packaging
At the forefront of High Tek USA’s offerings is the Linear Pouch Machine, capable of processing approximately 25 bags per minute. This machine boasts features such as a weight check station and a zipper closer, ensuring both accuracy and product integrity. Additionally, it can print variable data directly on the bag in motion, streamlining the packaging process.
For those utilizing jars, High Tek USA provides versatile solutions, including simple indexing systems and gross tare systems. These setups weigh the jar, fill it, verify the weight, and proceed to capping and labeling if the measurements are correct. If discrepancies arise, the system rejects the jar for rework, ensuring only quality products move forward.
Navigating Automation
Transitioning to automation can be daunting, especially for newcomers. High Tek USA leverages its extensive experience to guide clients through this journey. Peterson noted that manual packaging often achieves three to five packages per minute, whereas their semi-automatic systems can handle 12 to 15 packages per minute. Fully automated lines can reach up to 30 packages per minute with a reduced labor force.
“With the High Tek line, two to four people and you’re looking at 30 packages a minute all day,“ he emphasized.
