South Africa Legalizes Cannabis Use In Private Settings, Says No To Sales And Yes To Home Grow

South African President Cyril Ramaphosa signed into law Tuesday the Cannabis for Private Purposes Act (CfPPA), which regulates the cultivation, possession and consumption of marijuana by adults in a private setting.

Under the CfPPA, cannabis is completely removed from the Drugs and Drug Trafficking Act, further allowing amendment of the Schedules to the Medicine and Related Substances Act as well as amendments to other measures that would enable the industrialization of the cannabis sector.
