Nebraska Attorney General Probes Colorado Cannabis Company

Nebraska Attorney General Mike Hilgers, who’s earned a reputation as staunchly anti-cannabis, is sniffing around a Colorado cannabis company that operates a retail location near the state border for still unknown reasons.

Peak North Holdings, the operator of Peak Dispensary in Sedgwick, Colorado, filed a petition in Nebraska state court earlier this month resisting a demand and subpoena filed by Hilgers on Sept. 1, according to the Lincoln Journal Star.

Sedgwick is less than a half-hour drive from the Nebraska border.

Border towns, especially those near states without adult-use cannabis access, typically enjoy robust sales.

But recently, law enforcement in states such as Indiana have taken a harder approach towards cannabis purchased legally in other states that crosses borders.
